My Veins, His Blood!

MY VEINS, HIS BLOOD!

To dismiss what we don't understand is to abandon and limit our outcome to our own understanding!

A prisoner on death row received a small box containing a last-minute reprieve, full pardon and notice he was now free! But before any explanation was given, the prisoner had removed its contents, and eaten the box! He then rolled the paper found inside into a "cigar" & smoked it as an "after-dinner" joke! His jailers, aghast at the sight, left him (wagging their heads in unbelief as they went), alone in his cell - abandoned to the dark ignorance of his own choosing!

Astonishing? Not at all! As God sees the Revelation of His Son Jesus Christ and what we "do" with it, this sort of thing happens every day!

Today people make more of prophesy than revelation. This is astounding! The Reality of Jesus Christ as Son of God Almighty is a fact! That all prophesy looks forward or attests to this fact is also true. But to prefer prophesy ("spoken for God") to revelation ("spoken/done by God") is deep darkness!

"And because iniquity shall ABOUND, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall ENDURE unto the end, the same shall be saved"-Mt 24:12,13.

What "abound"?; What "endure"?; The R.V. says "be multiplied" for "abound", but I prefer "be scrambled" (hence, "confusion"). So we are to "endure" through "multiplied iniquity" IF we are to be saved! (Anyone who does not see Jesus' implied "if" misses His message!).

Saved IF we "endure"! Those who don't make it "unto to the end"? Well, the writer to the Hebrews reminds us there were multiple millions who were "saved" but rotted in the wilderness just the same! "Saved" to rot? Well, it wasn't God's idea!

Remember, when they were snakebitten, & "salvation" was revealed, it was their choice not to "see" ("look & live" unto) God's Graciousness! Every single soul lost in the wilderness was "saved" from captivity by God, wore His Name, ate His food, walked in the "light" of His Way, and had seen the mighty Hand of God at work on their behalf! But only two were "saved" unto the end!

Jesus said there would be "few"! As long as we see "them" as "they" and not "us", we can't "see" them at all! "Oh, that's them, not me! They don't relate!" One wonders why God even bothers with revelation (Truth-Related) to those who refuse to apply!

Some might think the notion preposterous; "God's Blood in man!". You might just as well say Eternal Life alive in mortal bodies doomed to die! Right! One might well ask, "why?"! Because it's the ONLY WAY to "endure unto the end"!

I want to "share" what God has - God wants to "share what I "have" (my life). Which is more important? We'd better do it God's way! There seems a direct connection between my sharing my puny, little, no-account life with Almighty Creator God (IN-CHRIST), and what I "get" from God! Let's see, I gave Him my life, but won't let Him live it - no, won't even share it with Him! No wonder His Blood in me seems foreign & far-fetched!

But with His Blood in my lungs, every breath I take is another interface between Christ-In-Me and the world ("abounding iniquity, multiplied") I "endure" in!

But will I endure "unto the end"? That word "end" is the Greek word "telos" which means ripe & mature, complete, full & fulfilled! Well, it will depend on who's doing the "work", doesn't it!

"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."- Phil 1:6.

Well, whose "life" is it, anyway? His? Or mine? The problem so often presents itself in absolute blacks & whites; either/or's; yes or no!; this or that.

But we are a NEW CREATION in Christ. We come equipped with abilities, powers, virtues, likes, dislikes, preferences, yes, and even knowledge that all seem foreign (at least!), or worse, frightening to us! But we fear what we don't know!

Once Jesus Christ becomes a Real Presence in our life, our life is not our own! That is, there's HIM to be reckoned with! HE has something to say about what, after all, now belongs to Him!

But you see, it may be His Blood (New Life) in me, but it's still my veins! That's right! We learn (all too soon) that we can actually say "no" to God-In-Us!

Man, that's what I call GRACE! That God doesn't dissolve us on the proverbial "spot" demonstrates He loves us in no human way!

Sooner or later we begin to wonder why He bothers! Aha! He thought we'd never ask! Now He gets the chance to show us how much He loves us all over again, and remind us of our "first love"!

It seems only "broken" (contrite) hearts pump His Blood! Everything else is just "faking" it! That is, only that "Blood" (Life) "pumped" (shared) with Him actually survives our death! After all, in a few decades from now (assuming we have that long!), who'll know the difference? Not even worms remember their last meal!

Pyramids notwithstanding; mummies stink! And blood is only Blood while the Life remains - after that, it's only dust!

But while we're on the subject of remembering; it turns out that the single most difficult thing for mortal men to remember is the Reality of God! Ever ask yourself why? I mean, if He's real, why don't we treat Him like He is?

A Body dies from many things. I can think of many "blood" ailments that have spiritual analogies. But a body can also die of nothing more complex than denial!

Our life is so fragile and temporary! We live perched precariously astride such sharply drawn criteria as just the right amount of water; or air; or heat; or cold; or food; etc., etc. But our soul also starves for lack of milk and meat.

God's Love and Truth (Reality) Light our Way in the "darkness-in-the-midst-and-meantime". Without such spiritual "food" (the Word) we shrivel in harsh lies pressing in, and our own decay within!

The Blood of God in us cleanses, heals, nourishes, invigorates and Breathes Life into the "dust" of our circumstances. May God grant we "breathe" Him in,... and out!
