HOW DO SPIRITS EAT?

IT AIN'T SCRIPTURE TIL GOD BREATHES IT INTO YOU!:

IT AIN'T DOCTRINE TIL IT'S TAUGHT TO YOU BY GOD!

You've heard it said "you are what you eat"; well, there's some spiritual truth here too. But we were made mirrors! What does a mirror "eat"? The difficulty arises when we try to describe a mirror apart from it's reflection! Technically, it can't be done! A mirror that does not reflect cannot PROVE it's "mirror-ness"! Therefore, we 'mirrors" are Whom we reflect! This is not a new idea, & certainly not original with me!

It is by "beholding" (perceiving/discerning/dividing) -> (reflecting/understanding/knowing) we "become", or are "transformed into His Image" (changed "from glory unto glory"). This is "look & Live", or "behold & become"! God's "transfiguring" Process which I call the "Crossess of Repentance", or the "Crossess of Believing/Becoming"!

The Greek verb is "metamorphmoomai" (hence, our English word "metamorphasis"). But we're not only "mirrors", we are "Spiritual mirrors"! That is, we're made of Spirit, to reflect Spirit! How do we do that? Well, we are what we "eat"! But how does a spirit "eat"?

Jesus said we had to "eat" Him! How? The Greek word for spirit (used 379 times in the N.T.) is "pneuma". (This Greek word corresponds with the Hebrew word "ruach"). It comes from the prime root word "pueo" which means to "breathe hard", "breeze", or "blow".

But there is another Greek word that only occurs in one place: II Tim 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" The Greek word translated "inspiration" is #2315, "Theopneustos" ("Theo"=#2310="God", and #4151 "Pneuma" from #4154 "Pueo"="Spirit, or Breath, or Breathed"). To "BREATHE GOD"!

Hence, "inspiration" = "God-Breathed", or "God's Breath"! There is an assumption, because of the former transliteration ["God-Breathed"], that it is past-tense! I wonder!? (Has God stopped Breathing?!).

In the "new Birth" doesn't God put His Spirit in us? Isn't His Holy Spirit Alive? Then does He Breathe in us? Isn't it more accurate to speak in the Present tense? Isn't that more "biblical" - more "theologically correct"?

Jesus "borrows" from the Torah (as quoting scripture to the Devil) when He Re-Speaks the words in Mat 4:4, "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live (have life, or breathe!) by bread alone, (mortal food - Jesus was being tempted to break His mortal Fast by Divine-Intervention, turning stones into bread), but by every Word ("Breath" Spoken, or "Exhalation" of Scripture) that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (and is Breathed into/through man)."

God's Breathe was the first Adam's Life (from dust). Jesus makes it clear that He doesn't Say, Do or even Think His own Will, but, rather, the Wishes, Thoughts, Actions, Desires of His Father in Heaven - even -as- they are occurring! [Divinely-Instigated-Animation]

I wonder if His very Breathe was that of the Holy Spirit (even in the "dust" of His mortality)! I Cor 15:45, "And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the Last Adam was made a Quickening ("Life-GIVING", or "Life-BREATHING"!) spirit."

How does a Spirit-Mirror Eat? Certainly not by "bread" alone, but by every Breathe of God. Divine Resuscitation, as in Ex 4:10-12, "And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say." [Boy, I wish I could get THAT thru MY head!]

And again in Num 12:6-8, "And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth-to-mouth, even apparently (as a clear reflection - I will "manifest" Myself to him!), and not in dark speeches (parables); and the similitude (Image) of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore (why?) then were ye not AFRAID to speak against my servant Moses?" "MOUTH-TO-MOUTH"! - Sounds like "C.P.R.", huh?

Well, that's just what it was! And IS! - "In-Christ"! His "exhalations" inflate our "spirits" with His Will (Himself) as surely as the wind fills the sails of a ship & "sets it's course"! [Good analogy, huh?]

This was not so "foreign" a "concept" to our Hebrew Forefathers; as in 1Tim 4:1, "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall DEPART FROM THE FAITH, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;" -[Take note, all you "once-saved-ALWAYS-saved,-can't-lose,-HOME-FREE" advocates!]-

The continued Guidance, Teaching and Direction ["In-Breathing"] of the Holy Spirit was an understood Fact to the early disciples! Without it there can be no Holy growth; no True Abiding-In-Christ!

And when Paul speaks of the "latter days", he speaks of the "teaching" and "doctrine" then! There is a curious (if diabolical!) heresy which claims that the Holy Spirit taught the Apostles to teach us, and thus the "scriptures" were written "by inspiration" by them, FOR us! (As though the Holy Spirit is somehow "out" of the Teaching "business" - except as from the written Word! Or, as though God's Word is more Final or "reliable" (somehow) when written down than not!). But God Lives in men through Jesus Christ today!

One lamentable "fall-out" of this deception is the denial of the Reality and the Fact that Christ's sheep "HEAR" His Voice TODAY, [as He Said]; and the consequential error that Holy Truth, or Scripture, can be "understood" or "discerned" with ANYTHING OTHER THAN the Holy Spirit [Living-Faith] within that NewCreature! The Bible is so much "jibberish" if not Breathed [Revealed] in man by God TODAY as when it was Written and Breathed to those who wrote it down long ago! Or has God stopped Speaking or Breathing?

The Holy Spirit Lives, Breathes and Speaks NOW - even as He did then! But we are in the "latter days", as in IITim 4:3,4 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound (Inspired, God-Breathed) doctrine (Teaching); but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves (carnal) teachers, having itching ears (listening only for what they want to hear; dismissing all else from God!); And they shall turn away their ears from the truth (which can only be Spoken by God, and heard [received] by those "born of His Spirit"!), and shall be turned unto fables (myths, delusions, lies)."

IIPet 1:16 "For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses (made "mirrors"!) of his majesty".

He 6:1,2 "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection (Fruition, manifestation, demonstration, of the Holy Spirit!); not laying again (& again, & again!) the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment (all "milk", no "meat"!)." We are Called to Maturity (to bear Holy Fruit!) in Christ!

But that means Doing as He Did! He Did as He Saw; Said as He Heard; and Chose as His Father Willed! How? By the Holy Spirit of His Father Who -IS- His Father Breathing -IN- Him! God Breathed His Breath through Jesus Who Is God's Word-Incarnate! And God's Intention (Plan) all along has been; AS HE (Christ) IS, SO SHALL WE BE-COME! ("Sow/Reap", "In Heaven/On Earth", "as-inside"/"so-outside", etc.,).

Jn 4:23,24 (Jesus) "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the TRUE worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit (His!) and in TRUTH (Reality!): for the Father seeketh such to worship him."

God is Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in Spirit (humble) and in TRUTH (contrition)." ["AS-SO"=TRUTH!]

Our word "worship" comes from an AngloSaxon term, "worth-ship". What Jesus was referring to here must be that "Mouth to Mouth" "Respiratory-Relationship" Jesus had with His Father! He wants that for us too! [Imagine that!]

THEN we will KNOW Him! Then we will know and desire and do His Will as though it was (indeed, it has become!) our own! The LIVING WORD, BREATHING in us! Living Testaments to His Love and Wisdom in man! So Let It Be Done! [Amen?]
