God made His people go hungry? God afflicts man??? Naaaaaaa.... that can't be right! "For He knoweth our frame: He remembereth that we are d u s t."-Ps 103:14. Who do we think we are? - Our "fear" of God reminds us Who He Is, and that we're but dust - lest we ever forget! John the Baptist said to some Jews, "...And begin not to say within yourselves, 'We have Abraham to our father': for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham!"-Lk 3:8. And Jesus said, "I tell you that, if these (followers) should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out!"-Lk 19:40. God's talking to the "dust"; "stones" becoming "children of Abraham" and "crying out" praises to God's Messiah ("Manna") for His People - WHAT'S GOING ON?! Good question!
In the wilderness, God made sure there were no excuses allowed! Because they were hungry, the children ate what was placed before them - even though they knew not what they ate! That "food" completely altered the physics of their "reality" as well as their own bodies! For forty long years, they were what "manna" had made them. Why? So God could prove them! No excuses! They were now what "manna" had made them (physiologically, at least) - but were they God's children? That "remained to be seen" (proven)! John the Baptist reminds Jews not to rely on heredity (paternal (physical) genealogy) as carte-blanche-entree into the Kingdom of God! "Making children" is no "trick" for God, even from rocks!. But God only Loves loving children; the "rest" He can "do without"! And Jesus reminds us that A L L God's creation will acknowledge, honor and praise Him!
The scripture says "EVERY WORD OF GOD". Not "some"; not "a few", or "just what we know or understand". And it is non-specific: it merely says "MAN"! That means "ALL CREATURES HERE BELOW"! And that word "LIVE"? That means the very Breath of God, remember? God took "dust" and "breathed" into it? His Breath. His Dust! His Creation! That's us! All of us! "W-H-O, M-E-E-E-E???" I mean, where do we get off? - saying, "He's not talking to ME!" Such casual disregard for God's Words means DEATH! God Spoke to be OBEYED (whether we understand it, or not!). Otherwise, HE's the "dust", and WE'RE in control! No, if God has something to say to me ...... I want to hear it AND obey it. And Jesus Christ makes all that possible! Thank God!
