In Isa 11:10 He is called "The Root of Jesse." Here He is called a "Root Out of a Dry Ground." He has "no form or comliness that we should desire Him," --- born in a humble home, lived as a carpenter's (or mason's) son, --- but from Him has come all the hope, comfort and joy that this poor old world has ever known. "Behold, how great a matter" a "Root" has produced! Do you know Him? Do you Love Him? Do you Obey Him? Are you a (Holy) Fruit-Bearing branch of the "True Vine?"
Blessed Lord, how we, who are Thine own, adore Thee! Help us to make Thee known to the children of men, and to abide and bear Holy Fruit in Thee. Amen.
