"MINE ELECT"
Isai 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, [in whom] my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
"Behold!" The inspired writer would draw the attention of the whole world, Jew and Gentile. He has a new revelation. The verse preceding (39:29) says of the nations: "They are all vanity; their works are nothing." The curtain was drawn and the faithless exposed. Israel had not been true. But, praise His Name, He has laid in Zion "a Chief Corner Stone, ELECT, precious." "Mine Elect in Whom My soul delighteth" says the Father of the Son, and it was His delight to DO the Father's Will. "Knew ye not", said He, "that I must be about My Father's business?"
Dear Lord, we recognize Thee as "The Elect One" Who has promised to empower us for service. Help us to be about Thy business and glorify The Name this day. Amen.
