"THE EVERLASTING GOD"
Isai 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, [that] the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? [there is] no searching of his understanding.
Here Israel is bidden to abide in Jehovah as the "Everlasting One" who will strengthen them for service. There is no change in Him, for He is "the same yesterday today and forever." Our hearts are heavy sometimes because we do not understand His seeming indifference to our prayers, but we must never have a question mark concerning His doings. We must trust Him. Our faith must be unwavering. We are as dear to Him as the apple {pupil} of His eye. Let us live close to Him. Let us glorify Him and abide in His promises.
Forgive us Lord, Thou who art "The Everlasting God", if we ever hurt Thy heart by our lack of faith in Thee. Let us trust Thee like little children. Amen.
