Hebr 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of [them], and embraced [them], and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims> ["exiles"-RSV] on the earth. {in faith: Gr. according to faith} 1Pet 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech [you] as strangers ["aliens"-RSV] and pilgrims ["exiles"-RSV], abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
We hesitate to attempt in a few words to bring a picture of "The King in His Beauty!" Though the Bible is filled with pictures of Him, yet a thousand more would not meet the need. The very thought of seeing "The King in His Beauty" stirs our hearts with longing for the "Day of all days" when we shall see Him, The Perfect One, reigning in regal splendor over the whole universe. Words cannot describe that scene, and our vision will depend upon the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
Dear Lord, reveal to us Thyself as the One altogether lovely, day by day, and let us live in the expectation of seeing Thee and being like Thee. Amen.
