Hebr 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of [them], and embraced [them], and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims> ["exiles"-RSV] on the earth. {in faith: Gr. according to faith} 1Pet 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech [you] as strangers ["aliens"-RSV] and pilgrims ["exiles"-RSV], abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
We should read the first five verses of this chapter in order to get the proper vision of the glorious scene portrayed. Uplifted pride is to be trodden down under His feet. Those who are always seeking to live in the limelight will have small place then. "Seekest thou great things for thyself? Seek them not." Let us seek His glory Who is the All-Glorious One. Let us defend His Name now. He is our Righteousness and our Strength. He is our All-in-all. Lift up your eyes and behold Him! Lift up your voice and praise Him!
Oh, Thou Glorious One, we do worship and adore Thee, and give Thee all praise. Amen.
