Matt 7:13 (KJV) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: {strait: or, narrow} 14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. {Because: or, How}

Hebr 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of [them], and embraced [them], and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims> ["exiles"-RSV] on the earth. {in faith: Gr. according to faith} 1Pet 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech [you] as strangers ["aliens"-RSV] and pilgrims ["exiles"-RSV], abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

GOD'S BIBLE NAMES 2/6

"MY HIGH TOWER"

Psal 144:1 Blessed [be] the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, [and] my fingers to fight: {strength: Heb. rock} {to war...: Heb. to the war, etc} 2 My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and [he] in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. {My goodness: or, My mercy}

Not only is our Lord Jesus the "Headstone of the Corner" but He is also the "High Tower" which is built upon that immmovable Corner Stone. It is on the lofty hills that the castles were built, so He Who is our "High Tower" is high and holy, but always accessible, and in fellowship -WITH- Him we can see the whole world and its need, and then the light of God's eternal purpose, which "He purposed in Christ Jesus" shining above the stars. Oh the glory that is ours!

Blessed Lord, keep us above the turmoil, yet with a heart of love for those who walk in darkness. Amen.
