Faith Should "I-AM" In POWER!

FAITH SHOULD "I-AM" IN *POWER*!

Paul selects a very particular Greek verb to describe real Faith in 1Cor 2:5 "That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God."

"Stand" is Gr #1510 "eimi" which is the 1st person singular conjugation of the verb "to be"; "I exist"; "I am"; "I have been"; "it is I".

Strange, then, that the A.V. says "stand", and the R.V. uses "rest". Actually, I have no quarrel with either version, but think there might be further "light" in taking a look at the actual Greek word chosen by the Apostle. There were other words he might have used. But he uses the same verb in Greek to describe "Faith" that Yahweh uses to "Name" Himself (in Hebrew) at the burning bush with Moses!

Paul is deeply imbedded in a profound discussion of the very first hint of a Revelation so astonishing, it would "turn the world upside down!". Actually, he merely touches on the subject here, and fully details it later in his letters to the Ephesians and Colossians.

But, as all Judaism (yes, even Hebrew-ism) hinged on the Circumcision of Faith, so too this NEW TESTAMENT "rests" and "stands" ("is built") on Faith ("I AM!").

1 Corinthians 2 begins with a "determined" (vs2) "declaration" (vs1) and "demonstration" (vs4) of the "power" of "I AM-Faith" (vs5); - continues with the "mystery" of "hidden Wisdom ordained before the world", (vs7) as "the deep things of God", (vs10) "freely given to us of God", (vs12) "by His Spirit Who searches all things" (vs10) that we might KNOW!" (vs12); - and concludes with the "Spiritual man discerning ("judging", or "rightly-dividing") ALL things yet (remaining "hid-in-Christ" from) all other men" (vs15) because of how the Holy Spirit Teaches Truth "by comparing spiritual things with spiritual" (vs13).

Compare Ro 8:16 "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are ("I-AM") the children of God:"

So this "I AM-Faith" (as I now want to call it) is Alive-in-us as we see in Phil 2:13, "For it is God ("I AM" Himself, Personally) which worketh in you (Is your Faith) both to will and to do of his good pleasure."

Just as He Promised (over & over again) in Ezk 36:27, "And I will put my spirit within you, and [I wil] ==>cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."

Here we see that "I AM-Faith" CAN and WILL DO! This is that "demonstration of the "I AM-Faith" ("stand") in the power of God" Paul refers to.

As in Zech 4:6, "...Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."

The message seems simple enough; God has Declared and Ordained since before the foundations of the world were laid, that those whom He calls to be His Own will be... "AS-I-AM, SO-YOU-WILL-BE! (by My ["I-AM-Faith"] Spirit IN you)" All this (and much more) He has accomplished in Jesus Christ as "First-Fruits" in bringing many sons (even me) unto God. By His "I-AM-Faith" Power... I Thank you JESUS!
