Why does man think God's gifts are somehow separate from God? As though these "things" of His are ours to "handle" any way we choose!
Wasn't that just what got our father Adam in trouble with God in the first place? Didn't Adam "give away" (sell) what was not his to"give" (but to own)?
By usurping God's Choice (that Adam, not Lucifer, should have dominion), does not Adam seize from God, for the purpose of exchanging with Satan ( = fornication)? And for what? - A lousy bowl of pottage!
No appetite is ever satisfied! An appetite satisfied is not and appetite!
No, when God gives, He always gives Himself. Come to think of it, that's all He wants (expects) from us - our selves. After all, just what do you think you have to offer your Creator, anyway?
But Jesus offered Himself to us and asked us to "eat" His "Body" and "drink" His "Blood" (Jn 6:53-56), or, to feast on Him. But WHY?
There's fast, and then there's feast. What's the difference - and are we to fast, or feast? The answer is yes: BOTH!
We are to "put off" (Col 3:8,9), and "put on" (Eph 4:22, Col 3:10,12)!
Fasting from the world is "mortifying" our lusts (appetites), which is the "Body" (Obedience) of Christ ("putting off").
Feasting on the Lord is "renewing" our "new man" (Fruition), which is the "Blood" (Life/Love) of Christ ("putting on").
Thus it is that the "seed" (Word-in-our-heart) is "circumcised" ("rightly-divided"), and becomes fruitful unto our Father who sent Him.
The mystery of "death/risen/hid" unto "renewed" unto "walking worthy" is revealed in Jesus Christ. But even God cannot lead where we -->will not<-- follow!
