Just Whom Were You Expecting?

JUST WHOM WERE YOU EXPECTING?

You were expecting - maybe Zeus, or Appolo? What must Satan have thought when he watched with glee as his "children" (both Jesus and John the Baptist called them that) sneered with snide rebuff the Bread of Heaven come down for man! Their "what is it?" this time (unlike with their forefathers in the wilderness), and utter disregard for the Heavenly things of God, would ultimately produce the opposite result - namely; they would become worm-riddled even as they "stank"!

But, for now, all seemed well to Lucifer & Co. The people demamnded their expectations rather than gratefully receive and accept-with- hospitality (as some did) the One Chosen by God! No, even though things couldn't have seemed to be going better, Satan was taking notes!

Now after the cross, when everbody knew that Christ had not been defeated; when Satan knew he was a "gonner"; and when Jesus was announcing His Return, His 2nd Coming; and Jesus kept talking about the Anti-Christ coming before that time.... well, what do you think might have been going through Satan's mind about then? "Let's see, I have to appear as an imposter, pseudo, counterfeit Christ - too fool the people into following me. Hmmmm. I wonder how I can best pull that off?

Heh, wait a minute! I'll just do what comes naturally to man - I'll give them what they want, and they'll eat out of my hand and follow me anywhere! Let's see, what do the people expect of their saviour-messiah? Whatever they expect, that's what I'll give them!"

It might be pointed out that we all expect what we're taught to expect! The point is, we should never expect a pupil to be other than his teacher! As goes the teacher, so goes the student! Jesus said flatly, "The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord."-Mt 10:24,25.

And in Jn 13:13 He says, "Ye call Me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I AM!". Who is the teacher?/Then expect only the results as would come from that teacher!

God is Alive. He's Real, and He wants to be our Teacher! Whatever things our teacher God teaches us, we can expect to be from and like Him; ETERNAL!

It is written theat whomever the Son sets free (or, teaches) is free (or has learned) indeed! The point is, we expect what we've learned! God has gone to great lengths to teach His children about what to expect from Him! And if any child lacks knowledge, let him ask of the Father Who will deny no Goodly thing from those who ask of Him!

It will be fitting that, as Christ was rejected by man's expectations, so the Anti-Christ will be accepted as expected! We "see" Whom we "hear" (or, "listen to"). Never mistake one for the other! Both take "care" of their "own"!

Remember, the "kiss" of each; One, Life - the other, death! We must remember who it was that "passed over" that night in Goshen. It was the darkness of the angel of death himself!
