Beware Bright Beauty!

BEWARE BRIGHT BEAUTY!

"Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee."-Ezk 28:17.

The prophet describes Lucifer before and during his "fall" from grace (or should we say glory?!). I always heard it said that Satans "sin" was pride. Well, "lifted up" certainly means pride all right. However, that's only half the Truth. As there can be no "cause" without "effect", so "lifted up" (prideful) he became; even as that pride caused (produced) "corruption" (death!). A prideful heart KILLS wisdom! But where'd it all come from?

"Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee."-Ezk 28:13-16 Here God gives us an indelible view of this "glistening one" and his incomparable beauty! What went wrong? "Thine heart was lifted because of thy BEAUTY!".

Vanity! Plain 'ole, garden-variety, puffed-up, lying vanity! Because he was something (God made him special!), he became self-ish (of/from self, not God!)! He was all he could think about, concentrate on, see. Self-absorbed; Self-centered! He became what he saw even as he ceased reflecting God's Glory! His Wisdom "corrupted" and died, he became deceived by his own delusion. Mesmerized by the fantasy of "self determination" & "independence from God"! Thus "divided against himself", he now sought others to "divide". ...Why?

A "king" is no "king" without "dom"! For "dominion" he hungered, and sought, and then fought! 1/3 of all the angels in heaven were "taken in" by his "beauty"! And when man came along, its was curiosity of "strange 'fire', or "knowledge" which "promised" equality with God! All the more curious, because "equality" was never what Lucifer wanted. He wanted God! But he wanted God his way! He wanted to seize the Giver, and, by the taking, BE the "giver" of "self" - not LIFE! "Beauty" without Love Who made her, and "Wisdom" without Righteousness Who formed her from nothing, are as the same nothing from which they came! Nothing "puffed up" is a whole lot of NOTHING! Apart from the One who Loved us into existence; Who nurtures our way home to Him; and Who Promises our outcome is with Him, we too are nothing!

So beware "brightness" and "wisdom" and "beauty" which are not "square" with God. God counts RELATIONSHIP above all! When in doubt, ASK GOD! BEWARE BRIGHT BEAUTY!

May our "beauty" ever be; as in God's eyes, "beholding", see! Then will "wisdom" vie, and sigh, for all that only Love can Buy! And all that's naught will not indeed!; When all Love's Words are in His Seed!
