What ever happened to those OLD hymns - the ones that got our fore-fathers through their rough times? You know - the hymns with words as powerful as their music was overwhelming? Some of the most profound thoughts every penned were set to music and have passed to us in the form of hymns. They were flesh & blood folks just like you & me - who suffered, lost, bled and agonized through all manner of crises and circumstances - some we might not even believe! Their God was MIGHTY unto miracles. Their God was ALIVE and POWERFUL. And their faith was REAL and VITAL.

In an effort to remind us of the mighty faith of those who have gone on before us - trail-blazed, as it were, an unswerving path Home - I am recording the words to some of these great hymns (with musical background) for your meditation. Please consider the MEANING behind these words of praise, encouragement, lamentation, hope and literal faith. Oh - and listen to ALL of the verses - we tend to hear and remember only the first stanzas of these great poems - but there are precious and wonderful words throughout these sonets.
